Last week IA brokers, insurers and funders came together at the Hilton in Taupo to celebrate another year of growth and success. A black tie gala dinner was held on the last night and a number of awards presented.
Donaldson Brown Insurance Brokers took out the coveted Broker of the Year award and James McCarthy of Guardian Insurance was Emerging Broker of the Year.
For the second year running Delta Insurance was Insurer of the Year as voted by the brokers with NZI and Vero Liability as close contenders. Dinesh Murali was a popular winner of Insurance Person of the Year.
The first IA Platinum Practice certificates were also presented as part of Insurance Advisernet’s continuing best practice programme with more to follow over the coming months.
The conference was attended by nearly 140 delegates and sponsors and was a huge success with over $50,000 raised for charity.
Highlights included presentations by Peter Baines (Hands Across the Water) and Simon van Velthooven of Team NZ fame. Debbie Mayo-Smith took to the stage with her technology presentation and the Soul Train festivities of the opening night were a great hit.
