We’re pleased to welcome Brad Johnston of Insured North Limited to the IANZ network.

It’s been a real career journey for Brad. Now a sought-after broker in Whangarei, his working life began as a funeral director. After 10 years of guiding families through loss, he was looking for a change.

“In 2014, my mother suggested I join her business as a life insurance adviser. We went door knocking through the city’s businesses. What people seemed to be looking for though was business insurance. That sparked another whole new career path,” he says.

Four years working with Aon taught Brad a lot, he then moved on to Adams Trimmer where he increased his knowledge but found himself thinking more about the future he wanted within the insurance industry  – which has now led to Brad starting his own business.

The secret to his success? Client availability, quick responses and genuine connections. These values have fuelled multiple new business wins and complex claim settlements throughout his career.

“I think I provide clients with value by being approachable and honest, and developing great relationships,” he says. “Get that right and clients will follow you,” he says.
