Other Insurance Claims Form

Other Insurance Claims Form

If you have any other damage or claim under other insurance policies such as home and contents , marine, cyber, contract works, professional indemnity, statutory liability or directors’ and officers’ liability, please complete the notification form below or call your Broker as soon as possible.

Please note that this is a claim notification form ONLY. Your insurer may still require a claim form to be completed or request other additional information.

House and Contents Claims

If your house is seriously damaged or destroyed this can be a very traumatic experience, but the most important thing is to protect yourself and your family. Do not try and save any personal possessions, focus on making sure everyone is safe and accounted for. Call 111 for the Fire Service and follow their instructions, then call your Broker so they can make contact with your insurer.

Earthquake or other natural disaster – if your home is damaged by earthquake or landslip and the like, you will also need to contact the EQC to notify your claim as soon as possible. Under the Act governing the EQC and the cover it provides, you have only 3 months to get your claim in. Your Broker can help even although EQC’s cover (a) isn’t an insurance policy, and (b) especially as it’s limited so you may also need to report the claim to your insurer.

If there is minor damage, secure your property and take any reasonable steps to clean up what you can. Take photos before you start and keep notes of what you do for the insurer. Call your Broker and depending on the extent of the damage they will arrange for a loss assessor or adjuster to attend.

Burglary/theft – report the incident to the Police and follow their instructions. Once they have finished, take photos before you tidy things up and secure the house. If you need to get a builder/glazier to secure the house do so and then contact your Broker to advise them of the incident. Start making a list of the things that have been stolen.
