Welcome to the Network: Ryan McBrearty and The Team Insurance Brokers

We’re thrilled to welcome Ryan McBrearty and The Team Insurance Brokers to the IANZ network. 

Ryan started his career in insurance in Hawke’s Bay, rising to manage a group insurance portfolio for one of the area’s largest firms. 

After some time out from the industry, the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle provided the opportunity to return and help his community.

“I started fielding lots of questions from friends and co-workers who were having major troubles with their insurance companies. I wanted to get back into the industry so I can help those in need,” he says. 

Ryan has lived in a lot of places and been involved in many different industries, including panel beating, dairy farming, building super yachts, operating charter boats and a cocktail bar. He says that rich experience is invaluable to his new business and the understanding he brings to his clients. 

“Having such a varied background really helps you to talk to people and as a broker we have to relate, listen and understand our client's needs before we can begin to offer any advice."

“I'm hoping to achieve a business that is built around good people who all have the same passion and drive to offer our clients the best possible advice and service,” he says. 

He’s now positioned well to provide clients with a well-rounded view of the insurance market whilst also being able to help them negotiate some of their internal business pressures that insurance can bring.

“The highlight of every day for me is being able to stand beside a client looking at their loss, reassure them we have the right cover in place and then working beside them through the recovery. That’s what makes this job so rewarding.”
