International Fraud Awareness Week 2023
This Sunday marks the start of International Fraud Awareness Week. Fraud takes many shapes and forms – including tax fraud, identity theft and corporate fraud. In many instances it causes distress to innocent people.
Join the global effort to minimise the impact of fraud by promoting anti-fraud awareness and education.
Top tip! Did you know these are six most common behavioural red flags of fraud in the workplace:
- Living beyond means
- Financial difficulties
- A close personal relationship with vendors or customers
- Control issues or an unwillingness to share duties
- Irritability, suspiciousness, or defensiveness
- A ‘wheeler-dealer’ attitude.
Remember, sometimes these indicators often apply to honest people, so their presence alone doesn’t mean that someone is committing fraud – they’re just potential clues to look for.
